Conductor Bio:

Sophie Lee Landau is thrilled to be conducting HaZamir Houston!  Sophie Lee was in HaZamir Manhattan/NYC for 6 years, then joined Zamir Chorale for 4 years when she attended the Cooper Union. Upon graduation, Sophie Lee moved to Houston, TX to work as a chemical engineer.  She attended HaZamir Houston rehearsals, assisted for 2 years, and then took over as the full-time conductor. HaZamir Houston has grown in her time there and is going strong!  Sophie Lee will continue to be a strong supporter of the incredible Zamir Choral Foundation, along with her sister, a member of Zamir Noded, and her mother, a devoted member of Zamir Choral Foundation Board of Directors.

Sophie Lee is very involved in other areas of the performing arts, as well. She is the Assistant Director of the Sweet Adeline’s barbershop chorus in Houston. She also loves to play the harp!
