Conductor Bio:
Rachel Segman, choral conductor and singer, is currently pursuing her Master's degree in choral conducting at the Institute of Sacred Music at Yale University. Rachel has worked as a conservatory youth choir director and voice teacher. She was the founder and first artistic director of the Jerusalem Vocal Consort, a professional ensemble specializing in early music. She received her bachelor's degree in choral conducting from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where she also served as assistant conductor to Professor Stanley Sperber in the JAMD chamber choir, as well as studying a semester at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg, Germany. Rachel is highly devoted to programming and pursuing Jewish choral music, advocating for it, and introducing more of it to the Yale Institute of Sacred Music choral ensembles with whom she works. Rachel is delighted to become a part of HaZamir!
